Okay, if you're not into balisongs, than this is a great product to start with. If you wanted a funny cool bottle opener, it is great for that. I was looking for a cheap but high quality "CCC" balisong that I could practice with: many decent practice ones, even cheaper ones like Bear and Son, are in the 40 dollar and up range.

For starters, it does close completely, there are gaps in the handles so it locks tight like normal. Speaking of these handles, they are the exact style as the Benchmade 42 which is nice to feel.

The construction itself is not cheap aluminum, it is stainless steel. It weighs the same as my real butterfly knife, around 4.5oz (don't quote me on that).

Furthermore, it is NOT SANDWICH CONSTRUCTION. EACH HANDLE IS ONE SOLID PIECE OF METAL. This is something I have never seen in a balisong under $40.
On top of that, it doesn't use screws, it uses pins, which last much longer.

The one flaw, literally the only flaw, is that the handles have too much play: they squeak a lot and can move up-and-down about twice as much as they should. I'm considering just putting a washer around each pin though, to fix it.

Overall, this is something I would pay much more than $10 for. It is not lightweight, it has benchmade 42 style handles, which are NOT sandwich construction, the latch closes properly and doesn't swing open, stainless steel, and the same price or CHEAPER than hordes of crappy chinese balisongs that break and don't weigh enough and generally suck.
